Michigan Jewish Family Festival

Chabad Lubavitch of Michigan is proud to present the Michigan Jewish Family Festival — a vibrant, community-wide Lag BaOmer celebration!

The festival celebrates Jewish identity and brings together families from across Metro Detroit for an afternoon of joy, friendship, warmth, and unity. People of all ages, backgrounds, and affiliations are invited to join in this exciting and welcoming event.

Lag BaOmer marks the anniversary of the passing of the great sage and mystic Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, author of the Zohar, and commemorates the teachings of Rabbi Akiva and his message of love and respect for one another. Beginning in the 1950s, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, of righteous memory, encouraged Jewish children to gather in grand Lag BaOmer celebrations as a powerful expression of Jewish pride and unity. Today, Chabad continues this tradition with celebrations around the world.

This year’s Festival features a full-scale outdoor family experience, including a BBQ food court, exciting attractions, and engaging activities for children and adults alike. Families can enjoy a swing ride, bounce houses and inflatables, archery, pony rides, a petting zoo, train rides, crafts, a foam pit, and more — along with special free experiences throughout the event.

The celebration will culminate in a high-energy acrobatic performance by the Chicago Boyz, followed by a crowd-favorite marshmallow drop and roasting — a memorable Lag BaOmer tradition for all ages.

This year’s event is also an opportunity to come together in unity and prayer for the safety and well-being of our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land of Israel and around the world.
